Parachutes for Patriots, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that honors veterans, is holding its annual two-day fundraising event later this month, which will culminate in a block party in Downtown DeLand.
Friday, March 25, features an invitation-only VIP dinner.
From 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 26, tandem parachute jumps will be held at Skydive DeLand, 1600 Flight Line Blvd. on the DeLand Municipal Airport. Registration for the jumps is required, and spectators are welcome.
The block party and a silent auction will start at 6 p.m. March 26 in the public parking lot behind The Elusive Grape, 129 N. Woodland Blvd. Tickets cost $15 and include food (prepared by the Rotary Club of Downtown DeLand), beer, wine, and a performance by the Reunion Band. Registered veterans and their families are admitted free of charge.
Tickets can be purchased at Complete Parachute Solutions, 1326 E. International Speedway Blvd., #7, in DeLand, or at the door the evening of the event.
