State Rep. Joy Goff-Marcil, D-Maitland, will try to unseat Sen. Jason Brodeur, R-Sanford, in the November elections. Goff-Marcil announced Friday she will run in a redrawn Senate District 10 in Seminole and Orange counties.

Brodeur was elected in 2020 in Senate District 9 in Seminole and Volusia counties but will run in District 10 this year after the once-a-decade reapportionment process.

Goff-Marcil was first elected to the House in 2018, after serving on the Maitland City Council. Brodeur served from 2010 to 2018 in the House before getting elected to the Senate.
