CLEAN WATERS — In order to keep Florida’s picturesque waters clean, Be Floridian Now Outreach Coordinator Megan Martin said Volusians need to be aware of their fertilizer usage. The fun and rewarding environmental-awareness event will support the West Volusia Wellness Initiative, and is part of the Chamber’s communitywide effort to “clean up” West Volusia.
For the event, teams of volunteers from businesses, individuals, civic clubs, schools and city employees will scour DeLand and Orange City from 9 to 11 that morning. The goal is to show pride in each city and make a positive impact on participants’ health and wellness.
Check-in for both events will be from 8 to 8:30 a.m. For Keep DeLand Beautiful, check-in will be at Earl Brown Park, 750 S. Alabama Ave., and for Keep Orange City Beautiful, it will be at Coleman Park, 210 E. Blue Springs Ave.
