If you love the rumble of Johnny Cash’s bass-baritone, you’ll enjoy “Cash Unchained” on Wednesday, June 15, at the Athens Theatre in Downtown DeLand.
In 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. performances June 15, “Cash Unchained” brings its national tribute tour to Central Florida, with James Tamelcoff III capturing Cash’s distinctive vocal delivery. Furthermore, Tamelcoff’s band will deliver the driving rhythms of Cash’s Tennessee Three.
Their performance draws from more than six decades of Cash’s blend of country, rock ’n’ roll, blues, folk and gospel music. This combination has landed Cash in three halls of fame: Country Music, Rock & Roll, and Gospel Music.
You should “Cry, Cry, Cry” if you miss the “Man in Black,” so “Walk the Line” to get tickets for the really good seats.
The Athens Theatre is at 124 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown DeLand.
Tickets cost $35 for preferred reserved seating (first five rows center orchestra and two rows center balcony); $30 for general reserved seating. A $3-per-ticket processing charge and 6.5-percent sales tax will be added to each purchase.
