The DeLand City Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 20, to discuss agenda items including a luxury rental development in South DeLand and a new car wash in North DeLand.
If approved, CTC DeLand, or Christopher Thomas Communities DeLand, will bring 238 units of “cottage-style, multi-family rental apartments” to the city’s southern tip.”
Known as a “build-to-rent” community, CTC DeLand’s units — described as “luxury” units by Watts — would be built with an intention of renting them to people who are not necessarily looking to rent their first apartment.
The rezoning application for CTC DeLand was unanimously OK’d by the Planning Board last month.
Another item on the June 20 City Commission agenda is a request to allow the construction of a car wash in the shopping plaza located in the 1700 block of North Woodland Boulevard, across from the Walmart Supercenter, otherwise known as the Woodland Crossing planned development.
Other items on the agenda include an update on The Putnam and various other smaller land-use changes across the city.
The June 20 meeting of the DeLand City Commission will begin at 7 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers in DeLand City Hall, 120 S. Florida Ave. All City Commission meetings are open to the public and broadcast live on the city’s website, HERE.
