A political committee chaired by incoming House Speaker Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast, sent $200,000 last week to Friends of Ron DeSantis, the committee that plays a key role for Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to a newly filed finance report.
The Renner-led committee Conservatives for Principled Leadership made the contribution July 20. Renner, who will become speaker after the November elections, appeared Wednesday with DeSantis in Tampa to announce a move to prohibit state investments that use “environmental, social and governance” ratings.
The Renner committee raised $92,500 from July 16 through July 22 and had more than $2.5 million in cash on hand, according to the new report.
