Jaclyn Carrell was raised in Volusia County, where she graduated from Seabreeze High School and Daytona State College, before attending the University of Central Florida.
Today, Jaclyn is a professional chef and hospitality industry consultant. The Carrells are also local business owners. Jaclyn is a wife and mother who will support your values in Volusia’s classrooms.
Jaclyn has spent the past two years traveling to Tallahassee, and across the state, lobbying in support of parental rights, medical freedom and against unconstitutional mandates.
Jaclyn does not see taxpayer dollars as infinite. She will work with staff and public input to scrutinize projects and expenditures. She will put her energies toward being a better steward of an ever-growing budget, seeking maximum return for monies spent. She will also advocate for more local control of the system budget.
Jaclyn will be focused on improving the public school system with the goal of making it a competitive, viable option for all our children and grandchildren in the future. At the same time, she believes a successful education should be personalized and supports school choice and home education options.
Jaclyn has not been a part of the “system” for decades. She is a true outsider who brings a fresh perspective and alternative solutions.
Jaclyn wants to change the reputation of the Volusia County school system, of being a toxic, unsupportive working environment, so we can attract new professionals and retain the best-tenured talent for the benefit and success of our children.
Jaclyn will not sit idle and behind the scenes, but rather she will be out in the forefront of issues as an outspoken advocate for all students, parents, teachers, support staff and taxpayers.
