The City of DeLand is seeking nominations to recognize area residents for their volunteer efforts.
The Volunteer of the Year Award is given annually to a greater DeLand-area volunteer who goes above and beyond the call of duty. To be eligible, the nominee must have been engaged in volunteer activities for a minimum of one year.
Nominations are accepted separately for volunteers younger than 40 years of age and older than 40.
Nominations may be submitted through an online form on the city’s website or at City Hall through October 7.
The winners will have their names memorialized via plaques that will be placed at the corner of Woodland Boulevard and New York Avenue in Downtown DeLand in front of the Museum of Art – DeLand Downtown.
