ANGELA CHANG AS STEVIE NICKS

On Saturday, Sept. 3, it is time to “Go Your Own Way,” even if you have to tell “Little Lies” and break through “The Chain[s],” because the “Dreams” that you’ve had since you were on the “Edge of Seventeen” about the “Gold Dust Woman” singing like the “Seventh Wonder” are coming true! Yes, the historic Athens Theatre in DeLand, in response to popular demand, hosts the return of NightBird SWFL’s Ultimate Tribute to Stevie Nicks.

From her many years with Fleetwood Mac, to her long solo career, the heartfelt harmonies, insistent percussion, and infectious energies of Stevie Nicks’ music had generations sitting by their boomboxes waiting to press record. Come to hear and see why Nicks is the only female songster ever to be twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (once as a member of Fleetwood Mac, and then again on her own as a solo performer).

Don’t miss NightBird’s songstress Angela Chang’s perfect replication of Stevie Nicks’ sublime vocals as “Bella Donna” invites you to “Come in out of the darkness.” Her biggest hit “Dreams” urges you to “Listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness”; and many of her tunes remind you that “After the Glitter Fades” into “Crying in the Night,” there will always be “Rhiannon,” a woman who “takes to the sky like a bird in flight.”

Responding to the high-energy seven-piece band called NightBird, one past patron commented that “the band was awesome. They sounded terrific, and … were really entertaining to watch.”

NightBird SWFL performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3. The Athens Theatre is at 124 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown DeLand.

Tickets cost $35 for preferred reserved seating (first six rows orchestra, and two rows center balcony), and $30 for general reserved seating. A $4-per-ticket processing charge and 6.5-percent sales tax will be added to each purchase.

All tickets are available online at the Athens Theatre website (www.AthensDeLand.com), or by calling the box office at 386-736-1500. Box-office hours are 1-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and 1 1/2 hours before live performances.
