The City of Orange City’s water system and staff were recognized by the Florida Rural Water Association at the organization’s 2022 conference.
The Florida Rural Water Association, a nonprofit, non-regulatory professional association whose primary purpose is to assist water and wastewater systems with every phase of the water and wastewater operations, announced the winners of their annual awards. These awards represent individuals and systems that are considered the “best of the best” in their fields, chosen from entries submitted from throughout the state.
Among the winners were Orange City’s construction-project coordinator, Mariluz Diaz, Orange City’s water distribution crew lead, Pat Thomas, and the Orange City Utilities water system, which was selected as the Medium Public Water System of the Year.
“The Orange City Utilities staff continue to impress me every day,” said Public Services Director Migdalia Hernandez. “The efforts they have made and continue to make to improve the water system shows their dedication to provide great water and customer service to the customers of Orange City.”
