Let’s turn to hydrogen and help save our planet

Editor, The Beacon:

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. It can be liberated from wastewater without the use of fossil fuel. By adding bacteria and electric current to wastewater or other fermentable organic material, hydrogen can be produced.

In California, research is being done to convert internal-combustion engines from liquid gasoline to hydrogen gas.

California residents who own electric cars have been asked not to charge them because the electric grid is already overloaded from air-conditioning demand. Putting all their eggs in the electric-car basket is already proving to be a problem.

Hydrogen could be used to produce electricity by having wastewater plants near electric plants. Returning the clean water exhaust to the water plant would reduce the demand on groundwater. The possibilities are endless.
