This is a letter of gratitude to DeLand High School for assigning a staff member to stand at the entrance to the senior parking lot on the west side of Hill Avenue. There is only one legal way into that lot for northbound drivers on Hill. Most of them make a wide illegal left to get into that lot. It’s very dangerous to do that, and last week, I was in the aftermath of an accident that happened there.
Getting into and out of DHS in the mornings is dangerous enough when drivers do so legally. The staff member this morning was deterring scofflaws, and for her efforts, I am especially grateful.
