Editor, The Beacon:
In the words of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, “At what point then is the approach of danger [to our country and its freedoms] to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”
Are you paying attention, America?
How about the words of our 40th president, Ronald Reagan: “Freedom is a fragile thing and it’s never more than one generation away from extinction.”
Are you sleeping, America?
Now we have a nationwide election coming up on Tuesday, Nov. 8. You all better get out and vote. The survival of our country is at stake. Do you have to think about it?
