CITY OF DELAND SEAL

DeLand High School and the DeLand Police Department are jointly committed to ensuring citizens’ safety while attending DeLand High School football games. Florida law prohibits firearms at school-sponsored events, including sporting events. To ensure compliance with the law and ensure fan safety, effective immediately, the following safety protocols will be in place at all home football games held at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand, Florida.

  • No bags are permitted in the stadium (except for small purses and diaper bags). These bags will be searched before entering the stadium.
  • The only access to the stadium will be through the SOUTH GATE at Hubbard Ave. The skybox entrance, north entrance, and west gates will no longer be accessible.
  • All spectators will receive a security check before entering the stadium utilizing security wand metal detectors.
  • The stadium entrance will be closed at the start of the 4th quarter.
  • Alcohol is not permitted at any DeLand High School event.

Please allow for extra time to enter the stadium as we work to ensure a safe and fun time for all. As always, if you see something, say something. Thank you to all our DeLand citizens for your patience and supportive spirit to keep us all safe.
