STRUTTING ONTO THE STAGE IN A “SIMPLE” LITTLE OUTFIT

Taking the Yellow Brick Road into the New Year!

New year, new you? We can certainly embrace that! Yet, it’s always smart to start with a good foundation. And that’s exactly what Scotsman Rus Anderson has done.

As Elton John’s official body double in videos and photos for John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” world tour, Anderson was hand-picked by Elton John himself.

RUS ANDERSON BELTING OUT THOSE ELTON HITS!

In fact, it was Rus’ own live production “The Rocket Man Show” that got him on the rock icon’s radar. In his performance, Rus evokes the magic and live persona of a young Elton like no other.

Chock-full of energy, he storms around the stage with larger-than-life flamboyance coupled with some serious musical chops! In true over-the-top fashion, the performance is a delicious cocktail consisting of two jiggers of diva, a hefty pour of theatrics, three scoops of unbelievable piano-playing, all topped off with stellar singing, served in a rock ’n’ roll glass (size? – Big Gulp)!

And of course, what would an Elton John tribute show be without the outfits? Well, Rus has that covered! Most of the colorful and spectacular costumes (and insane platforms) used by Anderson were actually worn by Elton. This is just one of the many reasons why “The Rocket Man Show” is widely known as the most authentic Elton John tribute show in the world.

ANDERSON’S RESEMBLANCE TO ELTON JOHN (MUSICALLY AND OTHERWISE) IS
SIMPLY UNCANNY.

Complementing the pageantry are 100-percent live vocals and instrumentation, as there are absolutely no tracks or lip-syncing.

The performance itself is an extremely sincere, intense and visual spectacle of a journey. With a combination of ballads and driving rock songs, be prepared to laugh, cry, sing, and dance! Virtually every era of Elton’s career is featured in this rocking reunion of revelry!

“The Rocket Man Show” is a regular feature across the U.S. at venues such as the House of Blues, Hard Rock Live, Caesar’s, Harrah’s, Legends in Concert, BB King’s Blues Club, Universal Studios and Walt Disney World — and the Athens Theatre in DeLand is proud to welcome back this awe-inspiring production for its sixth consecutive year, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 6 and 7.
