The DeLand City Commission will hold a special workshop on Monday, Jan. 30, to kick off the city’s strategic plan update.
“The discussion Monday night is to hear from the Commission on topics and areas of concern they would like to really focus on and hear from residents about,” Community Information Manager Chris Graham said.
The city’s strategic plan is a document that lays out guiding principles and areas that the city will focus on. Strategic plans are periodically updated, and the latest update to DeLand’s plan will take place over the course of 2023.
The Jan. 30 special workshop will begin that update and introduce the process to the City Commission and the public.
This meeting won’t be the only opportunity to have your thoughts heard, though.
“… There will be many ways for people to participate over the course of this next year including focus groups, community forums and online participation,” Graham said. “We will be sharing information about our new engagement platform next week with residents.”
The workshop will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in the City Commission Chambers at DeLand City Hall, 120 S. Florida Ave.
The workshop will also be streamed live online at the city’s website, HERE.
