The Lake Helen League for Better Living is once again happy to host “Art With Heart Gallery and Food Drive” in historic Hopkins Hall, which will be transformed into a pop-up gallery to host work by local artists of all types. The event will take place noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. Hopkins Hall is at 150 Connecticut Ave. in Lake Helen.
The gallery’s intent is to create a space for local artists to be celebrated and form connections with each other and the community, all while supporting an important local cause by raising funds and food donations for our local Lake Helen food bank, Outside the Gates Food Pantry.
The main hall of Hopkins Hall will contain works from 16 local artists and several youth artists. In the library room and sunroom, nine local authors will have their works on display, as well as a special demonstration from Ray Arroyo on puppetry.
Authors will be sharing readings throughout the gallery hours. On the stage, join artist Jason Villalobos for a one-of-a-kind music, lights and gaming experience.
Most artists will have work for sale, so be sure to bring cash for purchasing. For gallery entrance, bring a nonperishable food donation and/or a monetary donation for Outside the Gates Food Pantry.
Last year, in addition to a large nonperishable food donation, more than $800 was donated. This year’s goal is to exceed $1,000. Help us meet our goal while you enjoy and support local artists!
