Three DeLand boards will meet Monday to discuss topics including the West Voorhis Avenue streetscape project, security fencing and the city’s land-use designations.
Spring Hill CRA
First, at 6 p.m. Monday, March 6, the Spring Hill Community Redevelopment Agency will meet to discuss items including the purchase of security fencing at a Volusia County-owned property within the CRA’s boundaries at 927 S. Clara Ave. and who will be recognized as the CRA’s property of the quarter.
The CRA meeting will be held in the City Commission Chambers at DeLand City Hall, 120 S. Florida Ave.
Downtown DeLand CRA
The Downtown DeLand Community Redevelopment Agency will meet next at 6:30 p.m. March 6. The topic of discussion is the latest update on the plan to fix up a portion of West Voorhis Avenue.
When the project last came before the CRA, members of the public worried that the streetscape’s ballooning costs and scope had lost the plot on the original plan to fix up the road. This meeting will focus on giving the firm CPH Engineering the go-ahead to work with the City of DeLand’s staff to hold more public outreach meetings and create another proposal for the streetscape, Deputy City Manager Mike Grebosz said.
“If approved,” he added, “then staff can discuss finding a tentative date for that workshop.”
Like the Spring Hill CRA, the Downtown DeLand CRA will meet in the City Commission Chambers.
DeLand City Commission
The DeLand City Commission will finish out the night with a meeting that will begin at 7 p.m.
Topics on the City Commission’s agenda include a new residential land-use category envisioned as a transitional land use bridging a gap between the city’s residential and agricultural land-use designations, as well as a $2.2 million extension to the city’s bike path, the Charles Paiva Greenway.
All the meetings on Monday, March 6, will be open to the public, and held in the City Commission Chambers at DeLand City Hall. The DeLand City Commission meeting will be streamed live on the city’s website, HERE.
