The DeLand City Commission will meet bright and early tomorrow morning, Saturday, March 11, for an annual workshop meeting about the city’s strategic plans, projects to prioritize, and early thoughts about next year’s budget.
While the city will not start discussing next year’s budget in earnest until the summertime, this annual workshop meeting is an opportunity for the City Commission to stay on top of projects that are underway, and examine the status of its strategic plan and budget scenarios for the upcoming year.
The city’s strategic plan is its road map for future growth and other changes. The plan is also undergoing an update this year.
In documentation prepared by city staff for the City Commission, the elected officials are asked to consider these questions for the workshop:
— Are there infrastructure needs that the City should prioritize?
— Are there gaps in service capacity that should be addressed?
— Are there policies that the City Commission would want to see implemented?
The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers at DeLand City Hall, 120 S. Florida Ave. The meeting will be open to the public.
