Not one but two big annual events will happen in DeLand this weekend. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, the Florida Wildflower & Garden Festival will take over West Indiana Avenue in Downtown DeLand and turn it into a gardener’s wonderland. Vendors will sell plants, and speakers will educate visitors on the importance of native plants and gardening.

Down the road at Earl Brown Park, 750 S. Alabama Ave., artists will be lined up for the 58th annual DeLand Outdoor Art Festival. Artists from near and far will come to display their art and compete for a number of prizes, including the Best in Show prize worth $2,000. Judges include Jay Song, a South Korean jeweler based in Savannah, Georgia, and Gainesville-based photojournalist John Kaplan.

Students ranging from kindergartners to 12th-graders will also have their art featured in the art show’s Youth Division.

The event will also include live music and food.

The outdoor art festival will run 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, March 25, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, March 26.
