For all practical purposes, 2024 and its election cycle are already here.
Volusia County Tax Collector Will Roberts has announced he plans to run for re-election next year. Roberts, who was elected in 2020, became the county’s first elected tax collector in decades with the implementation of Amendment 10.
In 2018, Florida voters approved the amendment, which required the establishment and perpetuation of certain county elected offices, known as constitutional offices. These officers, in addition to the tax collector, are the sheriff, elections supervisor, property appraiser and clerk of the court.
