New church now ‘Graces’ the River City
BEACON PHOTO/AL EVERSON<br> A MOMENT TO TREASURE — Heading the crowd behind the ribbon and wielding large pairs of scissors are, right of center in the front, DeBary Mayor Karen Chasez and Pastor Jacob Samples.

After years of assembling in rented buildings for its worship services and congregational activities, the members of Grace Baptist Church of DeBary now have a place to call home.

“Thank You for Your abundant blessings,” Grace Baptist Pastor Jacob Samples prayed to God, as church members, DeBary civic leaders, business people and others gathered March 10 for the dedication and formal opening of the new house of worship at 3070 Enterprise Road.

A PROMINENT PLACE — Grace Baptist Church stands on the southwest corner of the intersection of Enterprise and East Highbanks roads. The new 8,800-square-foot house of worship was built at a cost of about $4 million, according to Associate Pastor Charles Prescott. The church has approximately 200 members, and Prescott said the church expects to grow in numbers.
