DeLand tattoo parlor Untouchable Ink will host Spring Cleaning Spring Garden, a trash pickup event Sunday, May 21, with some exciting door prizes and other giveaways, including $100 toward a tattoo of your own.
Beginning at 9 a.m., volunteers will convene at Untouchable Ink, 204 S. Spring Garden Ave., and pick up trash along Spring Garden Avenue until noon. After the trash pickup is done, volunteers will return to the tattoo studio for a chance to win a number of door prizes courtesy of local businesses, including a $100 gift card to Wise Axe, a $25 gift card to BerryVille Frozen Yogurt, and more.
Special prizes — tattoo vouchers — will also be awarded to two trash pickup volunteers. The person with the most trash by weight will win a $100 voucher toward a tattoo at Untouchable Ink, and the person with the “most unique” piece of trash will be awarded $50 toward an Untouchable Ink tattoo of their choosing.
“If you just keep your eyes open, there’s no telling what kind of trash you’ll find,” Untouchable Ink’s Administrative Assistant Catelyn Hassell said.
“We’ve had people bring mattresses back in,” she said. “It’s like, ‘How did this get here?’”
