Lise Crossman is the Deltona Art Club’s Artist of the Month for June. Her acrylic painting The Waterfall is inspired by her love of nature and is on display inside the doors of Deltona City Hall for the month.
Crossman recently retired from Volusia County Schools after working as a bus driver for 15 years. I’m sure her riders miss her sense of humor and ever-changing brightly colored hair.
She is finally finding more time to enjoy her art and not having to rush to the monthly art club meetings.
Art has always been a part of her life. Starting in her 20s, Crossman worked for 23 years at Disney World as a display artist.
She participates in all of the club’s art shows, displaying her creative bead jewelry and acrylic paintings.
Now I’m sure she will have even more to display in the club’s upcoming shows this fall at the Enterprise Museum, and at the Deltona Regional Library on Dec. 2. Maybe she will even surprise us with a new form of her artistic talent.
The Deltona Art Club meets at 9:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month September-May, in the Scrub Jay Room at the Deltona Regional Library. We are looking forward to resuming our meetings in the fall, and we hope to entice more new members to join us for inspiration, companionship and encouragement in our love of expression through art.
