Update, July 5:
The DeLand Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has made an arrest in connection with this case.
Tywon Jamal Patton (DOB: 02/25/2007) has been taken into custody and is now facing the following charges: Aggravated Battery with a firearm; Robbery with a firearm and Carrying a concealed firearm.
Patton, 16, is believed to be involved in the shooting stemming from an argument between several parties, including the victim. Officers located Patton in the 600 Block of E. Division Avenue and took him into custody following a brief foot pursuit.
Patton was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice, where he will be held pending further legal proceedings.

The DeLand Police Department is investigating after a shooting sent a man to the hospital Monday evening, July 3.
At around 7 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Enclave at Pine Oaks Apartments, located at 508 Harrison Place Drive. The incident involved an armed suspect who fired shots into an occupied vehicle before fleeing the area on foot.
Upon arrival, officers determined an adult male victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was initially being transported to the hospital by a private vehicle, but they managed to flag down officers for immediate assistance.
The victim was airlifted to Halifax Health in Daytona Beach. At present, the victim remains in critical condition, receiving the necessary medical care.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to the scene, which encompassed two different crime scenes.
Detectives diligently collected valuable evidence and statements from witnesses in order to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident. As a result, CID has obtained crucial information regarding a possible suspect.
Further information will be released as the investigation allows.
