GREEN AND LOVING IT — Paula Pescha, co-founder of
Deltona Community Gardens, and an advocate for residential chickens in Deltona, holds a bunch of bananas she
grew while one of her chickens looks on. The chickens feed
the garden for the Pescha family, and the garden feeds the
chickens. The end result is naturally grown food with littleto-no-waste.

CHICKENS ARE MODELS, TOO — Lake
Helen resident Zachary Miles developed
a few hobbies during the height of the
COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Not only
did he start keeping a backyard flock of
chickens, but he started modeling with
them and releasing a calendar of photos, too. Photo is from his 2021 calendar, and he still has
copies of his 2023 calendar available
at his website, www.clucknorrismanor.
com. In total, Miles’ star-studded manor
is home to 26 chickens, including Oprah
Henfrey, Judy Garhend, Chicki Minaj and
Barbara Streishen. You can see more
pictures of Miles’ flock on his Instagram
page: @clucknorrismanor. In the coming
months, Miles plans to start work on his
2024 chicken calendar.
