With the 2023-24 school year just on the horizon, representatives from the City of DeLand and other local organizations joined together July 29 to give away backpacks and other school supplies at the annual Mayor’s Backpack Giveaway. In total, the City of DeLand distributed all 1,000 backpacks purchased for the event.
