Karen Feaster, airport director at Daytona Beach International Airport, has been elected 2023-2024 chair of the Florida Airports Council.
FAC is the official association of public airports in Florida and the professionals who operate them. The council is composed of members representing all 19 Florida commercial service airports and 75 of the state’s publicly owned general aviation airports, as well as one spaceport (Cecil Airport in Jacksonville) and more than 250 corporate, educational, affiliate, student chapters and student members.
“It’s an honor to be part of this leadership team,” said Feaster, who has been involved with FAC since 1994. “The focus of FAC for the next year will be on the governance of the association and ensuring the needs of members are exceeded.”
Florida’s airports generate $336 billion in statewide economic impact. Florida aviation provides 1.4 million jobs with $60 billion annual payroll created by Florida airports. In national rankings, Florida is No. 1 in total pilots, commercial rating and flight instructors, No. 2 in commercial service and No. 4 in air cargo tonnage.
