Motorists are advised that there will be temporary roadway closures at the intersection of N. Woodland Boulevard (U.S. 17-92; S.R. 15/600) and Mandarin Avenue in DeLand next week. These closures are necessary to install an underground drainage pipe across the roadway.
Mandarin Avenue in DeLand will be closed to traffic from N. Woodland Boulevard beginning 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, to as late as 6 a.m. Monday, October 9. Please see the first attachment for a map of this closure.
The southbound lanes of N. Woodland Boulevard at Mandarin Avenue will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. Thursday, October 5, to as late as 6 a.m. Monday, October 9, and the following detour will be in place:
- Motorists traveling southbound on N. Woodland Boulevard will be directed to turn left onto International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. 92/S.R. 600), then turn right onto Amelia Avenue, and lastly, turn right onto Plymouth Avenue to return to southbound N. Woodland Boulevard.
Local traffic access along southbound N. Woodland Boulevard between International Speedway Boulevard and Mandarin Avenue will still be maintained during the closure. Please see the second attachment for a map of this closure and detour route.
The construction schedule is subject to change pending weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers will be guided around the closures by crews, electronic message boards, and other signage. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan accordingly and seek an alternate route, if possible.
Please follow posted signage, avoid distractions, and drive cautiously in construction zones.
This work is part of a larger FDOT project to construct an underground stormwater bypass system to carry excess rain and ground water from North Woodland Boulevard to a new drainage outfall at the west end of Mandarin Avenue.
