Friends of Deltona Library invite you to join them for a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, in the auditorium of the Deltona Regional Library, at 2150 Eustace Ave. The Jazz Legacy Project presents “John Coltrane – the Beauty of Struggle.”
Coltrane’s transformation from his traumatic childhood, late blooming as a musician and alcohol addiction into the creator of some of the most beautiful, powerful and indelible music is one of the most inspirational stories in American culture.
Jazz Legacy features passionate jazz performances, combined with socially conscious and relevant narration, that helps the listener understand how Coltrane’s music works, his impact on modern music, and his impact on America and its culture.
The New York-, Atlanta- and Miami-based quartet includes performers, composers and educators who have been selling out performances for six years.
This show is geared toward the casual music lover with the aim to make jazz accessible, engaging and informative.
