Ye gads!
I came across a reference recently to some ideas that our U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz from St. Augustine has been advancing. To wit: The U.S. should bomb Mexico, targeting drug labs.
I looked it up and, sure enough, his ideas have been floating around since at least last spring.
Mr. Waltz probably would say that bombing Mexico to eliminate cartel drug labs is nothing at all like Russia’s bombing Ukraine to eliminate Nazis.
Still, bombing a populous neighboring country might be a daft idea. Especially when the target country has a lot of citizens living in the potentially bomb-initiating places like Florida — and particularly when the target country’s citizens may be putting roofs on our houses and fertilizing our vegetable crops.
Sometimes people do get ideas without thinking them through very well.
