Editor, The Beacon:

Recently, I was contemplating my hope that all in West Volusia were looking forward to happy holidays.

It occurred to me that perhaps Christians all over the world should change the spelling of this word to “holydays.” The pronunciation would be the same, and this would reaffirm that we are, indeed, marking a very holy day.

So, since the Christian Holy Days associated with Christmas extend long past Dec. 25, for anyone who is interested, “Happy Holydays!”
