Deltona’s biggest employer is receiving a six-figure payback from Deltona, in connection with payments for road improvements used by the company.
Amazon, which has two super-warehouses along North Normandy Boulevard and now has approximately 2,000 local workers on its payroll, will get $622,203 back in proportionate-share payments previously paid to the city. The company had paid a total of $889,344 to Deltona for transportation improvements. The higher amount was paid by Amazon “due to an error,” according to an official memorandum. The actual amount that should have been charged was $267,141.40, the memo notes.
