On March 30, Deltona resident Chloe Streeter, 16, was presented with her Eagle Scout rank the highest rank that the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) offers, at Deltona Presbyterian Church. No more than about 6 percent of Boy Scouts reach the rank of Eagle Scout, and the inaugural class of female Eagle Scouts was honored in 2021.

Chloe is in her third year of Scouting, and this achievement marks the occasion of recognizing the first female Eagle Scout in Volusia County, her mom, Eryn Streeter, said.

As a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 4130, Chloe has earned 119 merit badges which is only 19 short of all badges that the BSA offers.

Mom Streeter told The Beacon about Chloe’s academic and recreational achievements as well as her adventurous spirit!

Chloe is a dual-enrolled, home-school high-school student, and is only one semester away from earning her Associate of Arts degree from Southeastern University, based in Lakeland.

“Chloe is a certified lifeguard and works at Camp La-No-Che. That is her favorite thing to do. Every weekend, she’s at camp — working!” Streeter said.

In summer 2023, Chloe traveled to South Korea to attend a “World Scout Jamboree,” in addition to completing her BSA Hiking Merit Badge at the Great Wall of China.

MAKING MEMORIES, EARNING MERITS — Sisters Chloe and Clarye Streeter are pictured on the Great Wall of China, where a memorable hike served to satisfy the requirements for a Boy Scouts of America Hiking Merit Badge.

Streeter’s pride for her daughter’s accomplishments shined through as she described how Chloe has excelled in the branches of BSA that focus on “high adventure — on both land and in water.”

Chloe is an active member of multiple BSA Crews based throughout Central Florida and has earned both a boating license and SCUBA certification with her participation in the “Venturing” ranks and “Sea Scout” units.
