Daytona State College professor receives national recognition for  championing student success
PHOTO COURTESY REED MARKHAM<BR> NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED — Reed Markham, an associate professor in the College of Communication at Daytona State College, has been awarded the 2024 “Championing Student Success” Award.

Reed Markham, associate professor in the College of Communication at Daytona State College, has been named a national, top 20 “Pearson Excellence in Higher Education” professor. Markham is a recipient of the 2024 “Championing Student Success” Award. Out of 615 nationwide nominees, Markham is recognized for his commitment as an educator and dedication to higher education.

Markham has worked at Daytona State College for 18 years and has worked as a speechwriter for the United States Supreme Court.

“I believe that students succeed when they are surrounded by supporting educators who care about their goals and aspirations,” said Markham.
