With no objection, but with some reservation, the Deltona City Commission has approved its agreement with Halifax Humane Society to shelter stray and unwanted animals picked up within the city. Deltona will pay $40,000 to the nonprofit agency to provide care for dogs, cats and other domesticated animals at its facility in Daytona Beach.

Deltona has utilized Halifax Humane Society for the impoundment of animals since 1998.
