Pioneer Trail interchange bad for environment

Re: Pioneer Trail interchange

In a recent story regarding the proposed Pioneer Trail interchange with I-95, Cindi Lane, FDOT public information director, stated, “As with every project, as part of the permitting process, the department goes above and beyond in consideration of environmental protection, and Pioneer Trail is no exception.”

If that were true, why was the most environmentally sensitive quadrant included, when there are four undeveloped quadrants? Why did the design include old standards that ignored the best and latest science to protect water quality, fish and wildlife?

Why were plaintiffs forbidden from even mentioning the total maximum daily loads for pollutants during the administrative hearing?

Why is FDOT constructing a bridge (not needed for the interchange) across an Outstanding Florida Waterway for a developer?
