Editor, The Beacon:
It’s ironic that Tanner Andrews finds it “convenient that there is so much government to criticize.” I just wanted to alert him to the availability of a vast wealth of more germane material if, contrary to his current practice, he would occasionally focus on the political policies, regulations and antics of the party that just got thoroughly trounced in the national election!
Tanner’s problem, however, is much larger than simply finding more convincing material to guide him in creating thought-provoking well-reasoned articles.
Indeed, his recent effort, “Burning books increases carbon footprint,” reminds me of the comment made by Winston Churchill when he was asked by a member of Parliament how he could include more fire in his speeches. Churchill’s suggestion to him was simply to put his speeches in the fire — a suggestion Mr. Tanner should seriously consider, as it relates to his articles!
