On behalf of the 77,269,255 voters who voted for Donald Trump in the recent presidential election, I feel compelled to respond to Chuck Oakwood’s recent letter to The Beacon. First let me reveal that I am registered Non Party Affiliation (NPA). Both the Republican Party and Democrat Party have lost their bearing — and I could not in good conscience support either party based solely on their respective titles.
Mr. Oakwood’s letter is a classic example of the elite, condescending, patronizing and arrogant lecture put forth by the Democrat Party to us who were hit with a “stupid stick.” Thank God people like Mr. Oakwood were in charge of the Democrat Party. Calling us stupid, misogynistic, racist, homophobic, etc. galvanized the common man and woman (straight, gay, white, Black, Hispanic, old, young, rich, poor, Christian, Jew, Muslim, etc.) to vote for someone who at least has a plan and can state what it is. Instead of someone who was not even voted on by the Democrat Party and who could not articulate a comprehensible position when challenged to do so.
My wife summed it up perfectly — if she could not take Kamala Harris seriously, how could world leaders take her seriously? Mr. Oakwood is smug in his criticism of the majority of the voters in the USA who want less government and more efficiency.

To vote for someone who “at least had a plan” is such a low bar. You know what the plan is? it is to increase taxes on the middle class, and cut them for billionaires. It’s to cut regulation so much that it risks public health. It’s to make sure that his billionaire friends make more money, while the rest of us stagnate. He has already backtracked on his promise to lower food prices as soon as he got elected.
Trump is everything we teach our kids not to be. And if you are ok with that kind of character and behavior being elevated to the most powerful position on the planet, then sadly somewhere along the way you sacrificed your morals for a conman. If Jesus were alive today he would be absolutely horrified at Trump’s character & behavior. I hope for your sake it will all be worth it for you so you can get your eggs 50 cents cheaper.
