Alex Tiamson, the vice mayor of Orange City, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29 at the age of 60.
Tiamson was representative for Orange City’s District 3, in addition to his role as vice mayor, from 2020 until his death. He was recently re-elected to the position after running unopposed in November 2024.
Tiamson was born in Manila, Philippines, and moved to the United States with his family when he was 10 years old. At age 19, he joined the United States Marine Corps.
Upon the end of his enlistment, Tiamson joined the Orlando Police Department and was promoted to detective after 19 years of service. He retired in 2011 but dedicated four more years to the department as a volunteer reserve officer.
The Orange City government office has not yet released an official statement regarding Alex Tiamson’s passing.
