ME STRONG 5K returns to DeLand
BEACON PHOTO/ELI WITEK; A BUBBLEFUL DAY — Bubbles abound during ME STRONG 5K several years ago. The 11th annual ME STRONG event raises money for people with cancer.

The beloved ME STRONG 5K is returning to DeLand on Saturday, Feb. 1. The event will kick off at 8 a.m. on East Indiana Avenue in Downtown DeLand. Participants will run through the area and the Stetson University campus over a distance of 3.1 miles, concluding on West Indiana Avenue. This event is sponsored by many Woodland businesses, including The Elusive Grape and Sunset Kava Bar. Early registration is available online and packet pickup will take place on Thursday, January 30, and Friday, Jan. 31, at Venue 142.

The entry fee is $40 for adults and $20 for children up to age 18, after Jan. 29. All sponsorship funds raised from the 5K will support local individuals facing a cancer diagnosis.
