Live and inert bombing training by the U.S. Navy will take place 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Feb. 10-14 in Ocala National Forest, according to Jacksonville’s Naval Air Station.
The Pinecastle Impact Range in Ocala is about 25 miles from Downtown DeLand and, occasionally, some rumblings or vibrations can be felt as Navy jet fighters and bombers use the range for bombing practice.
The site has been used for bomb training since the 1940s.
While no danger to the public, the trainings could temporarily displace some wildlife, according to a press release, and extra caution while driving through the area is recommended.
