I proudly support President Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency because it’s time we bring common sense back to our federal government. Yet, we see individuals in Downtown DeLand protesting Elon Musk’s recent efforts — efforts that, like DOGE, are aimed at cutting waste and restoring accountability in Washington, D.C.

What exactly are they objecting to? Do these protesters support the reckless spending of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars on left-wing social experiments overseas? Do they stand by federal employees who, years after COVID, have yet to return to in-person work — while still collecting paychecks funded by hardworking Floridians, many of whom are juggling two jobs just to make ends meet?

Where was their outrage when FEMA spent $59 million housing illegal immigrants in New York hotels, while North Carolinians struggling in the wake of devastating hurricanes were left behind? If their objection to DOGE is that it dares to challenge these injustices, then they should be honest about what they truly stand for.

The American people gave President Donald J. Trump a clear mandate to restore sanity to Washington. We’re tired of bureaucrats wasting our money, tired of political elites prioritizing special interests over everyday Americans, and tired of watching our country suffer under reckless policies.

The American people support DOGE because it stands for efficiency, accountability and putting Americans first. It’s time Washington listened to “We the People”!
