Is Donald Trump impersonating a president?

Editor, The Beacon:

It bears repeating often and loudly that Donald Trump did not receive a majority of the votes and, hence, received no mandate from “we the people.” His win percentage was 49.8, only a 1.5-percent squeaker margin more than the 48.3 percent received by Kamala Harris.

Due to the lies regarding “a majority,” it wouldn’t be a surprise if our allies believe that collectively we have turned our back on our Constitution.

As voter turnout was 63.9 percent, I wonder the same thing about the 36.1 percent of registered voters who either didn’t vote at all or declined to fill in the top boxes on their ballot.

What happened that kept them from voting? Why did they turn their back on their civic duty to our Constitution by deciding not to select the best candidate from those listed? No additional names were going to magically appear. Someone on that ballot for president was going to win.

So, here we are with an elected individual who disdainfully took the oath of office, with full intention beforehand to not preserve, protect and defend our Constitution. This is not in question; it was done in full view of his nonmajority supporters and all the world before the election.

This individual has usurped the power of Congress, abused executive power and overstepped the boundaries of the office, assaulted and raped our civil rights by violating the Privacy Act of 1974, with the stated intention to allow the illegally created DOGE agency to access our individual IRS data records.

The Supreme Court ruled in Trump v. United States that presidents have absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts within their constitutional authority. A question: As upholding the oath of office is an obligation for the role of president, wouldn’t having the full intention beforehand to not uphold our Constitution constitute an illegal act of disloyalty and therefore invalidate that individual from being recognized as president?

If the answer is yes, then that individual is no longer and never should have been an elected official, has not and never should have had “official acts” nor “constitutional authority,” and no longer has nor should have had “absolute immunity.” Other than as a comedy, impersonating a president is a crime.

  1. Let’s go back to 2020 since it seems Carol is a left wing hack. The 2020 election must be the one you are referencing where the election was definitely rigged in favor of Joe Biden which we all knew at the time he was not capable of fulfilling that obligation but you hacks cheated and lied to get him elected.

  2. Just so you won’t forget

    TRUMP IS YOUR PRESIDENT

  3. I hope you soon discover the truth about who is misinformed or being outright lied to. You think it’s us and I believe Trump is an evil man who will do anything for money and power. My grandfathers, father, 3 brothers, and only son served in the military for our country during wartimes. That is what true patriots do and their service helped give everyone the right to verbalize their own beliefs.
