Children of DeLand can find the golden egg this Easter weekend

BY SARA WARD

Looking for a shell of a good time? This weekend, April 12-13, hidden in the city parks of DeLand lay 10 golden eggs to be scavenged.

The DeLand Police Department will host this brand-new community challenge for youth under 16 to channel their inner detective and while scrambling to find egg-stra special golden eggs.

Located inside each of the eggs will be instructions on how to claim some egg-straordinary prizes.

There will be two eggs hidden at Earl Brown Park and Spring Hill Park, and one egg hidden at Bill Dreggors Park, Pioneer Park, Painter’s Pond Park, Sunflower Park, Tra Thomas Park and Chess Park.

“DeLand PD has been hatching this idea for quite a while,” City of DeLand Community Information Manager Chris Graham said. “It will be an egg-ceptional way to get outside this week, and the police department has assured me it is all it’s cracked up to be.”
