Black Artists, Art and History Speaker Series: Margaret Seidler, The Accidental Historian

Presented by the Fall Festival of the Arts DeLand, in partnership with Stetson University, Volusia Remembers Coalition and the African American Museum of the Arts, to provide diversity, equity and inclusion to the world of art and open doors that may have otherwise been closed to minority artists. Seidler’s research into her family revealed ancestral connections to cousins of African descent as well as connections to a prominent slave trader from the 1800s. More than 9,200 human beings passed through his Charleston slave-brokering business. Free.
