Dr. Charles Drew Memorial Blood Drive

Sponsored by the Iota Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, in partnership with Delta Sigma Theta Alumnae Chapter of DeLand, the DeLand Police Department and Healing Hands Family Chiropractic. Dr. Charles Drew was the first African American to receive a Doctor of Medical Science degree from Columbia University. He worked tirelessly in the area of blood transfusions, developing a method for processing and preserving blood plasma by separating it into components.
