Exhibit Open House

The Burgess Pavilion offers three galleries: the West Volusia Black Medical Gallery, which recognizes the work of early Black midwives, doctors and dentists; the West Volusia Black Heritage Gallery, which highlights varied aspects of Black life in DeLand’s early days; and the Hawtense Conrad Children’s Gallery, which combines Conrad’s elephant collection with vintage Conrad family toys, and a “DeLand was a Circus Town” exhibit. Docents will be available to give tours and answer questions, but guests may move at their own pace as well. Free.
