Take a trip down Florida’s memory lane while hiking through Lyonia Preserve and learning about the ancient beach it once was. Staff will also explain what life was like for the Northern and Central Florida Native Americans known as Timucuans and their village, Nocoroco, which is a preserved site in Volusia County. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes, bring water and be prepared to hike on unpaved sugar-sand trails. Free. Because of the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, participants are asked to practice social distancing during the outdoor programs. Registration is required; call 386-789-7207, ext. 21028.
