Local History and Lemonade

Hear from local leaders, enjoy local talent, and celebrate the Black community with the West Volusia Historical Society and friends. Special guests include Joyce Cusack, former member of the Florida House of Representatives, and filmmaker Kathy Hersh, who will share information about two new historic plaques in Downtown DeLand. Vernon Burton, mayor of Lake Helen, will share his experiences focusing on his path to civic engagement and local politics. The Burgess Pavilion, originally constructed in 1926, was the first hospital to serve West Volusia’s black citizens. Free. Call 386-740-6813.
